For the second time in a matter of weeks vandals have hit Mannford Soccer Complex driving a motor vehicle across the fields in an unwanted journey of destruction, making tire track circles in the middle of the Under 12 year old soccer field.
“This kind of stupid behavior has got to stop” said Joseph Sears, President of Mannford Soccer Club. “Some of the ruts run three inches deep and it will take us weeks to get them out. This damage to the field puts our kids at risk of twisting or even breaking an ankle or leg.”
Vandals drove around the center of the field late on Thursday night March 12th leaving tracks around the edges of several fields but centering their damage on the Under 12 field.
“We will have to spend time and money on this to try to repair the damage” Sears went on. “We will not be able to play any games on the field until we can level the surface. This is going to cost us to put it right and it is money we cannot afford at this time. We and the City of Mannford have spent a great deal of time and money to landscape the area and create new parking facilities. We are also trying to raise money for other vital improvements and this just takes it away from these other projects.”
If anybody has information about the perpetrators please contact Mannford Police.
