At the March meeting of Creek County Retired Educators, Nannette Tresner was named this year’s VIM, Very Important Member. Every year each association chooses to honor those members who give exceptional service to their local. Nannette has been a member of CCREA since her retirement from Mannford Public Schools in 2011, serving as the association’s treasurer the past three years and on the Membership Committee for two years. This year she also was responsible for compiling the group’s directory. In September Nannette will represent CCREA at the OREA state convention in Norman. In other business new scholarship guidelines were discussed and members received an update on legislative action pertaining to education. John Mark Young presented this month’s program, speaking on the connection between our past and present. The next regular meeting of CCREA is April 4th, 11:30 AM at Freddie’s Banquet Center on Hwy 66 in Sapulpa. April’s program will be presented by the Tulsa Herbal Society. All retired educators, administrators, and support personnel are invited. For questions, contact Linda Turner, 918 865 4016.
