In an update to a story we brought you about Chad Hutchinson (43) who allegedly sped past a Creek County Sheriff’s Deputy while he was patrolling Hwy 33 near 241st West Avenue and then made a run for it after an attempted stop, court records show Hutchinson has pleaded guilty to five of the six charges against him
Count 1-Driving A Motor Vehicle While Under The Influence Of Alcohol – 3rd Or Subsequent, he received seven year suspended sentence with a $500 fine and $750 drug court assessment and court costs. Count two Eluding/Attempting To Elude Police Officer was reduced to misdemeanor with time served, a $250 fine plus court costs.As for the charges of Resisting An Officer, Driving With License Cancelled/Suspended/Revoked, 6th Or Subsequent offense and Transporting Opened Container Of Beer, those charges were reduced to time served plus court costs. Driving Left Of Center was dismissed with the cost to the state.
Hutchinson was arrested after passing a Creek County deputy on the right and straddling the center lane for 200 yard, The deputy initiated a traffic stop and when he asked for Hutchinson’s drivers license, he was informed that the driver did not have one.
As he was reviewing his insurance form, he noticed the odor of alcohol coming from Hutchinson. The deputy then asked if he had been drinking, to which he replied, “ya, I’ve had a few,” according to the affidavit. After the returned to his patrol car for a records search, Hutchinson sped off.
After a short pursuit with speeds of up to 75 MPH, Hutchinson pulled his vehicle over. The deputy prepared to make a felony arrest and ordered Hutchinson out of the vehicle. He did not initially comply with the first few orders and stayed inside his car. Once he finally exited the vehicle, the deputy approached him and ordered him to lay on the ground. As he began to make the arrest, Hutchinson resisted and began moving his arms about in an attempt to not be handcuffed.
