On March 13, Central Tech hosted the thirteenth annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) day at the Drumright campus. Students from around the district attended to compete in competitions that included math tests, scientific problem solving, balloon-powered vehicles, and building paper towers. Mannford high school and middle school did very well at STEM Day, with high school placing third in sweepstakes, and the middle school taking first place in the overall middle school sweepstakes.
Winners of the Central Tech STEM Day Algebra I competition: were first place Colton Williams of Mannford, second place Taylor Gilreath of Mannford, and Eva Barnes of Mannford. Winners of the Central Tech STEM Day middle school balloon-powered vehicle competition were first place team Aaron Morris, Justin Reece and Jacob Harper of Olive, second place team Chris Watkins and Jacob Miller of Mounds, and third place team Dakota Clanton and Sean Adair of Mannford. Winners of the Central Tech STEM Day middle school math completion were first place Dustin Leonard of Mannford, second place Cody Marler of Mannford, and thirdy place Karley White of Mannford. MHS won 3rd place in sweepstakes and MMS won 1st place in sweepstakes at Central Tech’s annual STEM Day on March 12, 2015 in Drumright, Okla.
