Sand bags and sand donated by the  Corp and the County were used at the school as a precaution if the flood waters reached the buildings. Superintendent Steve Waldvogel said the extra bags near the track area are free to the public.

Thank you to those who submitted. The Corp of Engineers is currently running models to make determinations about the locations and times of releases to bring the reservoirs to normal elevation. There are many variables in those models including upstream inflows and runoff. “If we receive no more rain, it will take several weeks for the lake levels to reach normal elevation. Our dams, levees and system of reservoirs worked superbly to protect lives and infrastructure. Engineers, water managers, rangers and dam maintenance crews throughout the district worked together to operate and monitor the structures and ensure the safety of downstream communities,” a Corp Spokesperson said.
