If one happened to drive by the Mannford McDonald’s on September 17, one would have noticed a packed parking lot and a busy store. This was due to McDonald’s hosting their first Mannford area McTeacher’s Night to benefit the Mannford Lower Elementary School. McDonald’s donated 500 pies for the occasion serving up its signature pies from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In addition, any pie sold plus 20 percent of all in-store sales were donated to the Lower Elementary School. According to

, Principle of the Lower Elementary School, the hope was that around $1,500 would be raised.
Teachers from the Lower Elementary School donated their time to market the pies around the store and in the parking lot. They divided the staff into shifts with all teachers available selling pies.
According to Andrea (Andy) Lacy, Manager of the Mannford McDonald’s, the establishment is thrilled to work with the Mannford schools to promote and support the good things happening at Mannford Public Schools. She added that other McTeacher Nights are planned in the future for the other schools within the Mannford school system.
Even the Mannford Reporter got caught up in the fun of the evening by purchasing 25 pies and donating them back to McDonald’s for the hardworking staff on hand. And with the store jam packed with people, the staff more than earned their pies.
Mannford is fortunate to have a corporate citizen like McDonald’s. They do so much to support the community. Mannford is very appreciative of all that McDonald’s does.
