Dick Tracy Day in Pawnee on October 10.

Dick Tracy Day in Pawnee on October 10.

In the beginning his name was Plain Clothes Tracy, he walked down the dark Street to visit his girlfriend, Tess Trueheart at Mr. Trueheart’s. (Fischer’s Bakery in Pawnee was the setting for this location) when two masked, gun toting crooks broke in and shot down Tess’s father in cold blood… It would be the first murder in cartoon history, no longer the “Funny Papers”
Plain Clothes Tracy would become Dick Tracy when he joined the Police in the search for his girlfriend, who had been kidnapped…Not the End, The rest is history.
