He is extremely dedicated to the International City Management Association Code of Ethics, serves on the Board of Directors for the City Management Association of Oklahoma and the INCOG Executive Board. He is also a member of the REAP Committee and the local Chamber of Commerce. He has also been a recipient of the “Citizen of the Year” award.

Under the Town form of government, Mannford has a Town Administrator as the Chief Administrative Officer. Appointed by the Board of Trustees and under their direction, the Town Administrator is responsible for the daily management of the town government.

Some of Nunneley’s recent accomplishments have been leasing land on Lake Keystone for the construction of 450 boat slips with a new lake store and restaurant; as well as the expansion of the public campsites. He also worked to acquire 100 acres of land for commercial and industrial development which led to the construction of a new grocery store, a new bank and a new commercial business. The community purchased 91 vacant residential lots, with 76 sold thus far. Thirty new homes have already been built. The community is in the process of constructing a “public” CNG fueling station.

Mike has also been very active throughout the State of Oklahoma attending 59 City Council meetings on “How to hire a City Manager” and three meetings on how to change to the Council-Manager form of government.

Nunneley was nominated by Coweta’s City Manager, Steve Whitlock and endorsed by Mannford Mayor Tyler Buttram.

Recipients of the Gerald Wilkins Award are credited with strengthening the city management form of government through their stable length of service to cities, dedication to civic activities, and participation in and contribution to CMAO and the International City Management Association.
