MECC The ECC teachers have already been working hard decorating and preparing their classrooms for another exciting year! Because of the success of last year’s fundraiser, the MECC will again be hosting a “Bingo Night” on September 24 from 5-8 pm. Wonderful prizes and donations are coming in daily! The only new teacher that we will have this year is for Art. Ms. Renee Montgomery is shared with the ES and Mr. Pierce will introduce her to you. Enrollment continues everyday with our PK class growing with more girls than boys so far. That is a first! Please refer to the web site for enrollment procedures or stop by the MECC office and Pam Miller our secretary will be happy to help you with it. Most importantly: •To enroll in PreKindergarten, the student must be 4 years old on or before September 1 •To enroll in Kindergarten, the student must be 5 years old on or before September 1. Class lists will be posted on the front door by August 12. Be sure you stop by to find your child’s teacher! We look forward to meeting you at Open House and sharing with you “Where Pirates Are Born!”

MES “Welcome back! Your dreams are your ticket out!” – John Sebastian (The Lovin’ Spoonful) As we begin the 2016-2017 academic year let’s remember that students come to school full of aspirations and dreams of what they one day will become as adults. One of our goals must be to help those students achieve those dreams by providing them the foundation and education they will need in an ever-changing world. Mannford Elementary WILL have high expectations for ALL students. Mannford Elementary WILL provide a safe and caring environment where ALL students WILL succeed. Mannford Elementary WILL make 2016-2017 the BEST YEAR EVER!

We are fortunate to welcome four new members to the Mannford Elementary family this year.

Mrs. Jamie Ausbern comes to us from Sand Springs Public Schools. She taught 4th grade at Pratt Elementary for the past 8 years. Prior to that she spent two years at Olive Public Schools. Mrs. Ausbern and her family reside in Mannford. In her “spare” time she and her husband trek across the state and country in support their two boys’ baseball and basketball teams. She will be teaching 3rd grade for us this year. We know she’s going to be awesome!

Mrs. Megan McDonald spent last year teaching 4th grade at Kellyville Public Schools. Prior to that she taught 1st grade for two years at Olive Public Schools. Mrs. McDonald completed her student teaching 4 years ago with us here at Mannford Elementary. We are very happy she chose to come be a Pirate again!

Ms. Renee Montgomery will be our new art teacher this year. She serves many of the art museums in the Tulsa area including Philbrook Museum and Gilcrease Museum while also having served many years as director at the Los Angeles Museum of Art. I know the students are going to enjoy all of the projects she has in store for them this year! Ms.

Margie Winburn is making a return to Mannford Elementary. She previously spent MANY years as an aide and secretary here at Mannford Elementary. Ms. Winburn will be returning as our attendance secretary and will be the first smiling face you see as you come into the office. You may recognize her from Phelp’s Grocery too! Welcome back Margie.

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES To enroll a student, you must provide the following: 1. State Certified Birth Certificate – NO HOSPITAL COPIES or facsimile will work. 2. Up to date Immunization (shot) records 3. Social Security Card or number. 4. Proof of residence must be an electric bill, phone bill, rental agreement, property deed, property tax receipt, etc., showing the physical address. NO P. O. BOX NUMBERS ARE ACCEPTED AS PHYSICAL ADDRESS. Home visits will be made if the actual physical residence of the student comes into question. 5. Any records or special testing papers from the child’s last school. 6. Photo ID of parent of legal guardian. 7. If acting as legal guardian, the appropriate legal documents must be presented. Class lists will be posted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday August 12, 2016. We look forward to seeing everyone on August 18, 2016 at our annual Back to School Night. MUES The Mannford Upper Elementary Family would like to welcome you to what we expect to be an amazing school year. We have our construction hats ready to BUILD A BRIDGE for each student. We would also like to introduce you to two new members of The “U” family, 4th grade teacher Talesa Hilton and teacher’s assistant Hanna Barto. Mrs. Hilton & Mrs. Barto would like to share with you a little about themselves:

I am Talesa Hilton. I grew up in Sand Springs, OK and graduated from Charles Page High School in 1992. I then attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. My teaching career began in Sand Springs at Garfield Elementary where I taught 3rd and 4th grades. After my time at Garfield I moved to the Sixth Grade Center to teach Math. After leaving Sand Springs, I spent time teaching at Lake Country Christian School. I enjoy spending time with my family and have 2 boys, which are 12 and 7 that also attend Mannford Public Schools. I’m excited to be teaching 4th grade at the upper elementary and look forward to another great year!

My name is Hanna Barto. I am originally from Oklahoma City, where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Child Development from University of Central Oklahoma. I have worked with young children for eight years now in child care settings and private schools. I moved here to Mannford in 2014, when I married my husband and I am now a step mommy and a mommy to our 9 month old son. I am so excited to be part of Mannford Public Schools, and teach in a community that I love so much! I plan to be here for many years, and look forward to beginning this new blessing!

MMS MMS would like to welcome you back, we hope that your summer has been fun and that it has rejuvenated you in preparation for THE BEST YEAR EVER, starting Monday, August 22! MMS has added five new staff members to our family this year:

Rachel Bushyhead will be teaching Special Education, she comes to us from Union Public schools in Tulsa, and is starting her 4th year of teaching.

Jason Dowdy will be entering his first year of teaching, he will be teaching Physical Education and coaching high school football, junior high football, and high school soccer. 

Kelly Elliot comes to us from the Lower Elementary, Mrs. Elliot will be teaching 6th grade Language Arts. This is Mrs. Elliot’s 11th year with Mannford Public Schools.

Cathy McKinzie, is starting her 4th year of teaching and will be teaching 8th grade Pre-Algebra.

Monica Gongloff is also starting her first year in education and will be the ISS instructor at Mannford Middle School. Please join us in welcoming them to the BEST school and community around!!

New enrollment is currently taking place, new enrollees can pick up enrollment packets at the middle school office during working hours (8-3PM). Middle School class schedules can be picked up at the MMS office starting August 16th, from 8AM-3PM. Mannford Middle School encourages all parents and students to attend the Back-to-School night, which will be held from 4PM-7PM on Thursday, August 18th. Come and meet your teachers, see friends, and practice your locker combo! We are looking forward to meeting you and are excited about the new year!

MHS Welcome Back! MHS is expecting the “BEST” school year ever. MHS has 3 new teachers this year!

Richard Tuberville – Head Football Coach & Social Studies Teacher. Coach Tuberville comes to Mannford High with many years of quality experience as teacher & coach.

Sherri Brasher – Physical Science Teacher and 9th grade sponsor. Ms. Brasher comes to Mannford High with multiple years of quality teaching experience both at the college level and high school level as well

Roxey Greenert – Spanish Teacher and 10th grade sponsor. Ms. Greenert is an enthusiastic first year teacher that possesses an abundance of passion and personal experiences that makes her a great fit for our students.

9th Grade Student Orientation – Thursday, August 18th at 3:00 p.m. All of our 9th grade students are invited to a personalized day with our faculty & staff. Our goal is to familiarize our students to MHS, ease apprehension about starting HS and to pass out their schedules. 9th Grade Parent Meeting – Thursday, August 18th at 6:00 p.m. This program is intended to provide our 9th grade parents an overview of what they need to know about policy, procedure, attendance, discipline, curriculum, extra-curricular electives and lots of other frequently asked information that is necessary for a great start to high school transition.

Back to School Night – Thursday, August 18th from 4:00 – 7:00. MHS welcomes all students and parents to come to back to school night. It’s a great time to meet new and returning faculty and staff. Freshman Schedules – pick up on August 18th at 9th grade orientation at 3:00 p.m. Watermelon Feed – August 22nd at 7:00 p.m. – join us for an opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders from our community, meet the coaches, and see our fantastic new track.
