Surrounded by family members, fellow board members and the 2015 Teachers of the Year, Wayne Burk said goodbye to his post of 30 years on the Mannford Board of Education. Superintendent Dr. Steve Waldvogel said of Burk that he was one of the most important people to him and extended how much he appreciated Burk for his service as a board member and just as a person. Other board members also spoke kind words of Burk and his contributions to Mannford schools. Burk said that he never felt as though his service was a job and that he has enjoyed being on the board and serving with so many fellow members through the years. Cake and sandwiches were served in honor of the occasion.
